| I hope this finds you all well with everything going on. How timely that I just read my emails & here was one from Linda that I copied here. It's a nice recap of all the recalls & has them all together for your reference:
3/31/07: Delmonte recalls dog & cat treats and canned dog food! As a precautionary measure, Del Monte Pet Products voluntarily recalled pet treats sold under the Jerky Treats, Gravy Train Beef Sticks and Pounce Meaty Morsels brands as well as wet dog food products sold under private label brands. A complete list of affected brands and products is listed at their website www.delmont.com/petfoodrecall.html . The company took this voluntary recall action after learning from the FDA that wheat gluten supplied to Del Monte Pet Products from a specific manufacturing facility in China contained melamine. Del Monte Pet Products customers can contact their Consumer Hotline at (800) 949-3799 for information about the recall. 3/30/07: Purina's Alpo Prime Cuts in Gravy canned dog food recalled! Nestlé Purina Pet Care Company today announced it is voluntarily recalling all sizes and varieties of its ALPO® Prime Cuts in Gravy wet dog food with specific date codes. The Company is taking this voluntary action after learning today that wheat gluten containing melamine, a substance not approved for use in food, was provided to Purina by the same company that also supplied Menu Foods. Consumers should immediately stop feeding their dogs ALPO Prime Cuts products with the date codes listed below and consult with a veterinarian if they have any health concerns with their pet. The recalled 13.2-ounce and 22-ounce ALPO Prime Cuts cans and 6-, 8-, 12- and 24-can ALPO Prime Cuts Variety Packs have four-digit code dates of 7037 through 7053, followed by the plant code 1159. Those codes follow a "Best Before Feb. 2009" date. This information should be checked on the bottom of the can or the top or side of the multi-pack cartons. See press release for more information and click here for an updated list of Frequently Asked Questions. If you have more questions or concerns, please contact Purina's Office of Consumer Affairs at 1-800-218-5898, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT. 3/30/07: Hill's Prescription MD dry food recall! Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. is voluntarily recalling Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry food from the market. Hill's is taking this precautionary action because during a two-month period in early 2007, wheat gluten for this product was provided by a company that also supplied wheat gluten to Menu Foods. U.S. Food and Drug Administration tests of wheat gluten samples from this period show the presence of a small amount of melamine. Hill's Science Diet Savory Cuts Feline canned cat foods, manufactured by Menu Foods, were previously withdrawn from the market as a precaution. The voluntary recall of Hill's Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry food involves discontinuation of all retail sales and product retrieval from sellers. This recall does not include Prescription Diet m/d Feline canned food which contains no wheat gluten. Consumers should stop using this product and return it for a refund. All Hill's products carry a 100 percent guarantee, and consumers can receive a refund for recalled product. Hill's has been fully cooperating with the FDA since the outset of its investigation and made the decision to voluntarily recall these products in consultation with the FDA. For more information, consumers can contact the company at 1-800-445-5777 or visit www.HillsPet.com for details. 3/17/07: Recalled Pet Food Alert! Menu Foods, Inc., a major manufacturer of dog and cat food, has announced the recall of over 60 million cans and pouches of wet pet food after reports of kidney failure and animal deaths. The recalled products were made using wheat gluten purchased from a new supplier produced between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. Product testing has not yet revealed the link explaining the exact cause of illness and death. Most of the recalled products involve 'cuts and gravy' style pet food, consisting of chunks of meat in gravy, sold in either cans or small foil pouches. The pet food was sold in stores operated by Wal-Mart, Safeway, PetSmart Inc., Wegmans, in addition to many others. Menu Foods has listed the brand names and lot numbers of recalled pet food on its Web site: www.menufoods.com/recall Menu Foods also makes pet food for Procter & Gamble Company, which sells Iams and Eukanuba brands of dog and cat food. See their websites for a listing of the recalled food: www.iams.com and www.eukanuba.com Menu Foods' three U.S. and one Canadian factory produce more than 1 billion containers of wet pet food a year. The recall covers pet food made at company plants in Emporia, Kansas, and Pennsauken, New Jersey. In response

Diet canned cat foods that are co-manufactured by Menu. See their website
