Summer is almost here!! I love Spring tho. I love seeing the flowers bloom & the leaves come out. I especially loved seeing so many of you this past couple months! I'm glad your parents are starting to travel again so I get my chance to spend time with you. Now that the hot weather will be here you have to remind your parents
to take precautions so you don't get sick. Anytime you are outside
make sure there is a place you can get out of the sun & there is a
big bowl of fresh water for you. White
There
are still a lot of you that haven't joined me on Facebook yet!
Just put FluffyPaw's Pet Luv
in the search & you'll get my page. Hit the "like" button &
that's it! If you haven't joined Facebook yet give it a try. There
are new better privacy settings now & you can have it so no one
sees any of your information except those you want to. You've missed
some cute Pet of the Weeks & some good specials. There will be more
so join!!I am just devastated how many fluffy buddies have left for Rainbow Bridge lately. One day I had 3 emails. I will set up pictures at Kodak Gallery of these wonderful friends we've lost. We have some new buddies to welcome as well! I was very excited to have watched Brock recently-he is a greyhound! 15 yrs I've been in business & that is the first greyhound. His Mom was so knowledgeable & shared so much information
about this stunning breed with me. The biggest surprise to me was they
don't need a lot of exercise. I thought they had loads of energy &
needed lots of room to run but actually they are couch potatoes!I've been having a terrible time with my cats & allergies. Suzi got real bad itching & was a mess with open sores. She healed up nicely & then Sarena started sneezing. I caught her early so she was OK. Shey has been a nightmare for the past
month. I actually thought I was going to loose him at one point. I had
to force feed him when he was on the verge of "fatty liver syndrome".
For those of you who don't know-when cats don't eat for more than a
couple days they are at a high risk of "fatty liver syndrome". Their
body breaks down the fat & these fats clog up the liver causing
liver failure & death. That's why you never let a cat go more than
a couple days of not eating before you take them into the Veterinarian.
So after force feeding Shey for almost a week he finally started eating
on his own but only if it was from my hand & only one of the
special veterinary diets. It took 5 different antibiotics, allergy
pills, appetite stimulants, antacids, nasal flush & 2 nose drops
& he has finally turned the corner & is getting back to his
normal self. Oh & no-it is definitely not fun or easy trying to
put nose drops in a cat's nose!Since we mentioned some health issues in this newsletter it occurred to me to mention the first thing you do if your pet has been injured or is in distress- Muzzle them! Yes, even your own sweet lovable pet may bite when they are in survival mode. Animal bites & especially cat bites can be very dangerous resulting in serious infection & hospitalization. So don't make it worse when your pet needs you most & land yourself in the hospital unable to help your pet. If you don't have a muzzle available grab anything soft that you can wrap & secure around the pet's mouth, such as a robe belt, long sock, etc. Try to keep your pet still & quiet when transporting. Have someone help if possible. Go now to see who the Pet of the Week is on Facebook!! Link for Kodak Picture Gallery Page 1 Link for Kodak Picture Gallery Page 2 I Luv u bunches!!!
